First Cessna Citation M2 Gen2 enters service after FAA certification

(PHOTO: Textron) Aviation announced the first delivery of the Cessna Citation M2 Gen2 light jet, after obtaining type certification from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Elite Team Offices, headquartered in Clovis, Calif., recently took delivery of the first production Citation M2 Gen2. This milestone comes less than six months after Textron Aviation announced the latest model at the 2021 National Business Aviation Association – Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition.

Stockbridge, owner of Elite Team Offices, started his business as a home-based landscape maintenance business in 1987. Today, Elite Team Offices employs over 500 people in its landscaping, landscape management, civil renewable energy leveling, vertical construction and nationwide development. “We are thrilled beyond explanation to finally own our very own light jet and what it will do for me, my wife, our crew members and our customers,” Stockbridge said. “Knowing that we can complete any project we have across the United States in a matter of hours feels amazing and amazing at the same time. We can’t wait to take off from Wichita in our new M2 Gen2 jet straight to one of our solar projects in Arizona and be home the same day.

Textron Aviation’s investment in reinventing the interior of the Citation M2 platform reinforces the model’s focus on pilot and passenger comfort as well as productivity. With a carefully crafted interior from front to rear, the M2 Gen2 offers an enhanced cabin experience that includes premium interior styling, ambient accent lighting, remastered illuminated cupholders and a new fold-down seat optional side-facing that converts to additional storage space.

Productivity has been enhanced by the latest in-cabin technologies, such as wireless charging capabilities and USB-A and USB-C ports at every seat in the cabin. In the cockpit, three inches of legroom has been added to the co-pilot position for added comfort. Additionally, cabin entry sill materials have been improved for durability and maintainability.

The Citation M2 Gen2 has a maximum cruise speed of 404 knots true (464 miles per hour) and a range of 1,550 nautical miles. The aircraft can operate at airports with runways as short as 3,210 feet and will climb to 41,000 feet in 24 minutes. The Citation M2 Gen2 is designed for single-pilot operation and features twin Williams FJ44 engines, updated touch-control Garmin G3000 avionics and seating for seven passengers.
