Madras 4th Battalion Earns Governor’s Citation

ITANAGAR, August 31: Governor BD Mishra on Wednesday presented the Governor’s Citation to the 4th Battalion Madras Regiment (4 MADRAS) to Raj Bhavan here for their professional competence and æcopy;lan, which they displayed in their operational role while deployed on the real control line (LAC) in the state.

Colonel Sandeep Kurup, Subedar Major N. Saji and the youngest Sepoy in the unit, Sepoy Kailasa Rao received the Governor’s Citation.

The Governor commended the officers and men of the unit for undertaking welfare activities for the civilian population and forging a strong association with the locals by preparing local boys and girls for admission to the Indian Military College of Rashtriya, Rashtriya Military Schools and Sainik Schools.

He appreciated the 4 MADRAS officers for motivating the young Arunachali to join the Indian Armed Forces under the Agnipath regime.

The governor also thanked the battalion for organizing the grand cycling rally of 75 cyclists from Hayuliang to Walong to commemorate the special occasion of “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav”. (Raj Bhawan)
