The Cessna Citation XLS Gen2 obtains FAA certification

Textron Aviation announced Thursday that its Cessna Citation XLS Gen2 business jet has received its type certificate from the FAA. The Citation XLS Gen2 is the latest model in the Citation 560XL series of midsize business jets, launched in 1998 with the Citation Excel. According to Textron, it has delivered more than 1,000 560XL series aircraft over the past 25 years. The company shipped the first XLS Gen2 this week.

“Loyal Citation customers inspire us to continually invest in bringing the latest design and technology to our product line,” said Lannie O’Bannion, Textron Aviation’s senior vice president of sales and air operations. “This new approach to our popular 560XL Series includes comfort and productivity enhancements requested by our customers, while maintaining the model’s combination of performance and efficiency that delivers mid-size jet characteristics at a lower operating cost. weaker.”

The Citation XLS Gen2 offers a range of 2,100 NM, a maximum cruise speed of 441 knots and a full payload of 800 lbs. Powered by Pratt & Whitney Canada PW545C engines, it seats up to 12 passengers and is fitted with the Collins Aerospace Pro Line 21 avionics suite. Additional upgrades include a new illuminated stairway door and entrance curtain, redesigned cabin seats and a wireless cabin management system as well as USB charging ports on each cabin seat and an optional Bongiovi Immersive speakerless audio system.
