Itanagar: Governor of Arunachal Pradesh, Brig Dr BD Mishra (Retired) on Tuesday presented citations to the 4 and 116 Engineer Regiments at Raj Bhavan here, for good operational performance, efficient assistance to civil administration and l invaluable aid to the local population by the two regiments.
Commander of 4th Engineer Regiment Col. K Senthil Kumar along with Subedar Major B Jagadesh Kumar and the youngest sapper of the Kamachandra unit received the Governor’s Citation, while Commander of 116th Engineer Regiment Colonel Prashant Ludhra, along with Subedar Major RB Bhosale and Sajan’s youngest sapper Prit Singh, received the citation, a statement from Raj Bhawan said here.
The governor commended the two regiments for preparing defensive positions for the troops in a timely manner and connecting them to roads and bridges, which greatly facilitated the smooth movement of men and equipment to the border areas.
He appreciated the 4th Engineer Regiment for successfully laying operational tracks at Shi Yomi and Upper Siang neighborhoods and to involve local young people and prefer local materials in their construction work.
He also appreciated the 116th Engineer Regiment for successfully laying operational tracks in Upper Subansiri, Lohit and Anjaw districts and for assisting the state government during natural disasters.
Mishra said that the effective assistance to the civil administration during natural disasters and the invaluable help to the local population by the two regiments, earned the praise of the people during their deployment to the Line of Actual Control (LAC ) in the state.
